We need to find solutions, not succumb to the easy emotions and polemic of a “tech-lash”.I remain a stubborn optimist about the progressive potential to society of technological innovation. It can transform how we work, play and build relationships. It can help to protect our environment and keep our streets safe. It will fundamentally change how we teach our children at school and at home. It is transforming healthcare and transport. If the tech industry can work sensibly with governments, regulators, parliaments and civic society around the world, I believe we can enhance the benefits of technology while diminishing the often unintended worlds of politics and tech too often speak past each other. The temptation for one side to condemn or ignore the other is great. But this standoff will, in the end, leave everyone worse off. It is time to build bridges between politics and tech so that tech can become the servant of progress and optimism, not a source of fear and suspicion. Perda de dinheiro A repercussão da consultoria que teria usado dados privados para fins políticos fez a rede social desvalorizar bilhões na bolsa de valores em apenas algumas horas. Bug expõe fotos Cerca de 6,8 milhões de usuários tiveram suas fotos não publicadas expostas por meio da rede social. A informação foi divulgada no último dia 14 em um comunicado oficial da empresa. Segundo a nota, o bug aconteceu com pessoas que permitiram o acesso de aplicativos de terceiros à sua mídia no Facebook. Normalmente, a API de fotos da plataforma permite que apps de terceiros visualizem somente imagens publicadas na linha do tempo. Com o erro, os desenvolvedores puderam ter acesso a outras fotos, como imagens do stories, fotos carregadas e não postadas na rede, entre outros casos. Acesso à mensagens Na última terça-feira 18, o Facebook confirmou que o Spotify e a Netflix, acessaram, durante anos, mensagens privadas de usuários da plataforma. A declaração foi dada após o jornal The New York Times acusar o Facebook de compartilhar informações sigilosas com empresas parceiras. Amazon, Apple, Microsoft e Yahoo também teriam tido acesso aos dados sem a autorização dos usuários. Todas as empresas envolvidas negaram ter aproveitado as informações de forma negativa.
